Whiterocks Galateia (Teia) – Being Retained

DOB – 10 November 2023
Sire – Galaxy (Grand Galaxy Win/ Sir Sinclair)
Dam – So Supre xx ( Coats Choice/Woodman)

We are so thrilled to get a filly from this stunning mare. Teia is so leggy and elegant it was decided very quickly that she would be retained as a future breeding /riding prospect. She has the sweetest, most gentle nature and I am so excited to keep working with her as she grows.

Her sire Galaxy is the prototype of a modern dressage horse. With a lot of nobility and elegance, he knows how to move like a feather. Despite all his light-footedness, his gait potential in trot and gallop is based on a very stable, load-bearing hind leg. The walk is always in rhythm and shines with its scope and diligence; Galaxy’s willingness to perform is exemplary. After successfully passing his 50-day stallion test in Schlieckau in 2019, he shone in 2020 with gala performances under the saddle of Simone Pearce. After a first-class first crop of foals with the Münster top price “Ganz große Kino” (dam’s sire Samarant / hammer price 30,000 E), Galaxy was named 1c main premium winner in Vechta.

Sire – De Niro Gold (De Niro/Florencio)
Dam – Furstin Star C (Fugato/Gymnastic Star)

An upstanding very handsome colt that is just oozing presence. His sire De Niro Gold is considered to be one of the best stallion sons of his famous sire De Niro. De Niro Gold has three equally excellent basic gaits and knows to impress with his self-confident and motivated manner combined with maximum balance. In 2016 he finished his 14-day test (Neustadt/Dosse) with top scores as expected and, both in 2017 and in 2018, he completed excellent sport tests with high partial scores for all criteria. In 2017 he presented his first crop with outstanding first impressions at the offspring show. Large-framed, good rhythm and carrying-power characterize his offspring without exceptions.

Oscar achieved excellence at his foal inspection, with the inspector commenting on his cadence and excellent ground covering movement. He is going to be a big tall boy and has FEI potential written all over him.

Whiterocks Fenella (Nellie) (Sold)

DOB – 1 November 2022

Dam – Sabrina Inc (Salient/Royal Diamond)

Jet black filly with a star. What more could you want. Nellie has a royal dressage pedigree. Her sire Fantastic is a well known Hanoverian Stallion standing at the Famous Gestut WM in Germany.

Fantastic is a wonderful moving, exquisitely beautiful, charming top quality  sire. Equipped with three superior gaits and a great Interior, he presented a wonderful picture at the Licensing in Verden, where he promptly became the audience favorite – with his supple, moving through the body trot, and his wonderful uphill gallop, he commands all eyes to be on him.

Best genes combine in the pedigree of Fantastic: his father Fuerst Romancier was also a Hauptpremium Seiger (Licensing Champion) was then rewarded with top marks in his stallion performance test (rideability 9.5 all gaits 9.0) and in 2009 was the most successful Stallion of his class at the World Championships in the 5-year old dressage horses. While Dam Sire Sandro Hit is one of most dominant stallions in modern dressage lines.

Nellie achieved an excellence award at her foal inspection with some super comments from the assessor, including special mention of her excellent canter and uphill elevated paces. Nellie is a very friendly girl and going to be a big magnificent mare when she matures.

Dam – Smitten xx (Postponed/Orientate)

Erik as a yearling

Upstanding, correct bay colt from my super Hanoverian elite candidate mare Smitten. Sire is Kirsty Schists Epiton MD, who was imported from Germany as a weanling. Sadly he only stood to a limited number of mares before being gelded to pursue his riding career.

Escolars progeny are highly successful and sought after all throughout Europe. Epiton MD has just recently started competing and has taken out every young horse class he has entered including the South Island overall supreme champion young horse on 81.6%. Empire is a very fast learner and has been very easy in all his handling lessons. EMH 15.3 to 16.1hh he would be a stunning and oh so elegant addition to some lucky persons paddock.

Whiterocks Frida (sold)

DOB – 29 November 2020
Sire – Firestone (Johnson/Florencio)
Dam – Ellesion JM (Brigham/I Conquer)

Frida @ 4 weeks

Frida is a full sister to Whiterocks Freya. I made a decision to repeat the breeding due to the quality and good feedback I received about Freya. To my delight a carbon copy black filly arrived at the end of the November. She is very correct and although very similar I think she is a little more refined and pretty than her sister.

Consistent with her siblings she has a very sweet, people loving temperament and is just a joy to have in the paddock. NZWB tour was virtual this year due to Covid and she was awarded Reserve champion derviative.

Whiterocks Freya  (sold)

Dam – Ellesion JM (Brigham/I conquer)
Sire – Firestone (Johnson/Florencio)

Freya @ 4 days

Yearling Freya

At last a filly after three colts and what a filly!  She is tall, black and very elegant.   She has an incredible front end, huge engine and is naturally very  uphill.   Full of sass and opinions she is a real character and I am so excited that I get to keep her.   After deciding that maybe I do know best she has become the most responsive and tuned in of my foals so far.  Very friendly and interested in everything,  her mothers sensible temperament is coming through and she is showing a keen intelligence.

Her sire Firestone is the wonderful result of top-class dressage sires Johnson and Florencio. Ridden by Hans Peter Minderhoud, Johnson is among the world’s best dressage horses. He contributed to the golden team medal at the European Championships in Aachen 2015 and represented the Netherlands at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.  Florencio has been world champion as both a five and a six-year-old, and in  2015 the KWPN awarded Florencio as ‘Keur’ sire.   Firestone himself was reserve champion of his KWPN licensing earning an impressive 82.5 points.   He was currently competing at international small tour level from the Czech Republic.   His foals are described as showing charm, charisma and great movement.

Freya attended NZWBA  inspection and received an incredible score of 81.25% and an excellence award.  This score placed her among the top scoring foals of the tour.   She received 9s for her trot, her swing and elasticity and her backend.   The very encouraging comments from the international inspector included ‘amazing ability to sit and push’, ‘huge engine’ and ‘a seriously talented horse with a big future’.

I feel so lucky that I get to keep this very exciting filly.  I am looking forward to seeing her grow and develop and also look forward to sharing her progress with you.

Whiterocks Fortune (Zuma) (sold)

Zuma aged 18 weeks

DOB – 11 November 2017
Dam – Ellesion JM (Brigham/I Conquer)
Sire – Formidable (Fidertanz/De Niro/Weltmeyer)

Zuma is a very correct and pretty colt who arrived two weeks early, but hasn’t looked back.  A very precious frozen semen baby he has been a delight right from the start.  Born friendly, he loves people and cuddles.  His first formal handling session at a month old involved me walking into the paddock putting a halter on him for the first time and then within 20 min I had touched him all over picked up all four feet and he was leading around the paddock.   He is getting more stunning by the day and I am very excited to see what his future holds.

Zuma was put forward for inspection by Gerd Kust for the NZWBA tour on 26 March 2018.  As preparation for this he has been float trained, feet trimmed, walk and trot in hand, covered and had his first bath.  He was completely unphased by the 2 hour float trip to Dunedin and received a super score of 79.5% for a Merit award.  We got some great feedback from the assessor which included relaxed and calm disposition, huge walk, elastic trot and canter.  He also received an score of 8 for overall type and appearance.

Fortune – Green broke 3 years old

Zuma’s sire is the stunning Formidable.  This young stallion has a pedigree to dream of with too many dressage greats to list.  He is licensed and approved Westfalian and was awarded  ‘Pramie’  status at his licensing.  His foals thus far are being reported as elegant, elastic movers with fantastic temperaments.

Zuma sold before weaning to Jeanette and Caitlin Benzie and made the big trip to Auckland as a weanling. Caitlin is an accomplished young dressage rider and is currently competing at Grand Prix level with the lovely Rosari Royal Gem. It is going to be very exciting to see what she and Zuma can achieve together.
